Working on veterans quilts

Yesterday was sewing day with my quilt club. I like to use those days to work on my own veterans’ quilts.

I started by finishing these string blocks. I started this quilt in July. I finished the blocks yesterday and trimmed them up last night after dinner. They are stacked in rows, and I’ll get the top pieced today.

I took a second kit with me yesterday, and after I finished the string blocks, I started piecing these. I should be able to get the rest of the blocks pieced today. I’ll bring them home to do a layout later.

I love the brown one you are working on. What pattern did you use?

I love the wood/earth tone quilt. Totally not something I would make, but very appealing. I have made several of that type string quilt. They are always fun.

I made an all blue and green quilt in the pattern you used for the brown one. I can see I need to do a brown one for a masculine quilt in my giving pile.
