A finished scarf and Eclipse

I finally finished this scarf! It’s made with yarn leftover from my poncho project. The yarn was expensive enough that I wanted to find another project to use the leftover yarn.

I selected one of the scarves from this pattern set.

I used 4 repeats instead of 3 as the pattern called for. The pattern is for 4 weight yarn, but what I used is a 3 weight with an H hook. I like all of the scarves in this pattern, so I might make another.

I still have a little yarn leftover, and I’m not sure what to do with it. I attempted to make a headband, but it was too lightweight.

I also got out the Eclipse quilt and got started on the border blocks. This will be my sewing focus for the rest of the week, when there’s no football to watch.

That is such a pretty scarf! I am sure you will figure out what to do with the leftover yarn. Patty

The scarf is very nice. The extra yarn could always go in the “magic drawer” and be used to couch down on cards or anything else you need to embellish with a couched thread.

I am excited to see the Eclipse quilt coming along.

I agree – all the patterns in that set are pretty. I wonder if you could combine this leftover yarn with something else to end up with the correct weight for a headband?
