A rainy day and a finished blanket

Even a rainy day is pretty here! We had our first real full on rainy day this month. It was a good day for fresh pastries (for everyone else), working a puzzle, reading, and crocheting.

I was able to finish this blanket for Laura to take home for her Mom. I really liked the way it turned out.

For my future reference, here’s all the info:

The pattern is Bedtime Dreams Baby Blanket.

Finished size is 28 x 41

Yarn is Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek, 5 skeins, 186 yards each, 4 weight. Hook size J. Chain 84

It makes up really quickly, and the stitch density is perfect for a lap blanket. Because of the CH3 at the end of each row, the edges have a nice scalloped edge. There’s no need for a border.

To help her fit it in her luggage, I put it in a large ziploc bag and squished the air out.

Today will be a pretty day. If the wind is amenable, I’ll kayak if I  can. Otherwise,  we will hike. We might take a trip to Bar Harbor too. So many options!

That blanket looks so cozy! I am sure it will be appreciated even more once the weather turns cold. It has finally cooled off here and we got a bit of rain at 2 am this morning. It woke me up and I had to shut the window because the rain was hitting me in the head. Patty

It is always good to have a “rest day” while on vacation.
I am glad that you got the blanket finished for Laura’s mom.

Laura’s mom will love it! I’m anxiously awaiting the shipment of fabric to arrive for my planned fusion quilt. The yarn is here but I had to preorder the fabric and I guess it isn’t it in stock at the store quite yet.

A rainy day is perfect now and then so we can stay in all day and sew or crochet or whatever hobby we have to work on! Nice finish Vicki.
