I don’t have a sewing or crochet update today but just wanted to take a minute to document yesterday’s hike for my future reference.
We settled out to hike a medium difficulty hike and ended up with a difficult one that we all enjoyed.

We hiked up Ledge Trail to St. Saveur then down to Valley Road, to the Valley Cove Trail and then took the Valley Peak Trail back up St. Saveur.
It was about 3.5 hours, 4.8 miles, combined elevation gain of over 1550 feet, and 14,000 steps according to Ian’s watch.

It was quite “ledgy” in areas.

And quite steep in others. We came across the nicest guys doing trail maintenance. They are building granite steps.

They have rigging in the trees to help move the granite blocks. Very cool.

We even saw a Pileated Woodpecker along the way. I’ve never seen one this close before.
We’ve had a wonderful visit with Dave and Caroline.
