Wild Goose Chase Quilt

Wild Goose Chase, 70″ x 82″, finished in 2015

Another finish for the weekend was putting the binding on this quilt. I started this quilt January 2014 as part of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. I had a bin of 30’s 6″ charm squares and wanted to use them up. This block has also been on my “someday” list. This quilt checked 3 boxes.
Originally I planned this quilt to be a twin sized bedspread for the guest house. There are 4 twin beds there and the other 3 have very bright quilts and after I finished the top I realized that this quilt will not look good out there. Instead it was gifted to my cousin. It’s the first hand made quilt that she has gotten from me because it’s the only one she’s ever wanted.
I used the 30’s charms in the geese and I had a stash of pastel plaid fat eighths that I used for the sashing. The blocks were all paper foundation pieced. It was a great project to take to my quilt club monthly “sew in” days.
The back is a 30’s repro green print and I quilted it with the Plume panto. I think the overall feathers complement the repro fabrics.
