Fractured Spiral

Fractured Spiral, 78″ x 84″, finished in 2014

I made the top in 2013 when we did the Fractured QAL. These are all hand dyed fabrics. The color fabrics are from my dyeing “waste fabrics”. You know I treasure them and I use them a lot. It was fun to find the colors for this quilt. The pattern is from the book Material Obsession by Kathy Doughty.

It’s quilted with a simple wavy cross hatch using gray So Fine thread in the needle and Bottom Line in the bobbin. This quilt will be a bedspread for a twin bed so it didn’t need anything fancy. But I couldn’t help putting a fancy back on it! This is the Sundance gradient. I sewed 2 lengths together on the yellow edge.
