On to something different

I know you are happy to see me doing different but you might get just as fatigued at this one!

This is a quilt that my Mom made and it’s huge! About 98″ square. She told me I could pantograph it but I’m in the mood for some light custom quilting.

Yesterday I got it loaded and basted.

Because of the size, I used my centering measuring tape to keep it square.  The quilt top was so flat that it probably wasn’t necessary. My Mom makes very flat and square quilts.

I’m starting by doing stitch-in-the-ditch over the whole quilt to stabilize it. Then I can quilt the sections in any order. I got about a quarter of the SID done yesterday.  I think it will take 3 days to finish the SID.

Wish me luck!
