January and February Accomplishments and March Plans

2026 isn’t kicking off with a stellar list of finishes but I’m very close to finishing possibly the most important project that I will do in 2026.

We were away 5 weeks during these 2 months but I did have my sewing machine with me and I got a good start on the bear quilt (Monty) that will be a raffle quilt for 2027. I also did a lot of crochet during that time while we watched football and the Olympics.

Before we left I did get 6 veterans quilts quilted and, since returning, I quilted 3 more. The first one in the gallery is the newest that was finished this weekend.

Next on the frame is the marge memory quilt and then I have 3 more veterans quilts after that. There are also 2 more quilts of my own that need quilting: Eclipse and Eclipse scraps. I will finish the memory quilt and 3 additional veterans quilts in March. Along with the memory quilt, I will finish the 12 pillows to go with it.

I had lots of crochet time during the cross-country car ride and while we were vacationing. I still have a big blanket underway and lots more chemo hats.

My YTD stats are:

Veterans quilts quilted – 9
Crochet blankets – 1
Crochet hats – 5
Crochet other items – 5
Crochet/loom knit hats and scarves – 1

My goals for March are:
– finish the memory quilt
– finish the 12 memory pillows to go with the quilt
– quilt 3+ veterans quilts
– bind and finish 4 veterans quilts
– cut more veterans quilt kits
– finish the Monty quilt top
– figure out a gift to make for the family vacation week

That is a pretty good list considering the time you were gone and enjoying other scenery.
