Monty is packed

Monty is packed

Well, I’m ready enough for our vacation.  I haven’t packed any clothes, but my sewing and crochet are packed!

I usually prefer to cut out all of the pieces for my travel projects ahead of time but I don’t have time for that this week. But I  knew I could save a ton of time if I could just cut out the HST pieces for the tree blocks.

With the Go cutter it only took a couple of hours. I got all of the rest of the fabric ironed and ready to go.

All packed and ready to go!

I also tried a new gluten-free sourdough recipe for chocolate bread. It tastes a lot like pumpernickel bread, something I sorely miss. This recipe has chocolate chips but I’d leave those out the next time.

One cool thing about having Ian and Laura visiting is that Ian loves doing yard chores. He, Chris and I have been clearing some trees. Yesterday, Ian and I cleared a mess if greenbrier and honeysuckle vines. I should have taken a before photo. It was a great workout and my sprained ankle did great.

Today, they have some day plans and then we are meeting friends for drinks.  During the day I hope to get another quilt done on the longarm.

Die cut triangles are the best. I can’t imagine hand cutting them anymore.
