Yesterday was a productive sewing day with Country School Quilters. I’ll share what I did at the end of the post. First, here are the two latest quilted veterans quilts.
This one was made by Becky. This past year she coordinated a 9-patch exchange with the group. It wrapped up at the October meeting so I expect to see a lot of 9-patch quilts coming through over the next few months. They all had red centers. I think the group is doing pinwheel blocks for next year.

This is one of my own quilts and I got the binding on it last night. That’s two quilts off my to-do list this week! I’ve made this simple quilt a couple of times. The blue fabrics are all scraps from dyed quilt backs and the prints are patriotic batik scraps from previous quilts.

I quilted both with red thread. I must have quilted lots of quilts with red thread because I now have 3 nearly-empty cones.

At sewing I worked on this kit. I was worried about how this one would look. The star fabric is a dyed fabric that was pretty much a failure. I’ve tried to use it several times to no avail. I finally cut it into smaller pieces and I’m pleased with it against this blue fabric. I got all of the components and one block sewn together. Today I’ll get the other 11 blocks together and, maybe, get the top completed.
I expect to receive 2 more veterans quilts from other people to be quilted.
