Finished!

I started the day with some yard work. I love my mini chainsaw and will take any opportunity to use it. Yesterday, I cut the lower branches off a large cedar tree so that Chris can access the trunk to cut it down. I filled the truck for him to empty when he gets back Sunday. He’s off to a high school reunion.

In the afternoon I got back to quilting and finished the last 2 veterans quilts, until Tuesday. I’m sure I’ll get more tops at the meeting Tuesday night. But, for now, I’m done for the weekend.

This one was pieced by Karen. She belongs to another sewing group and they made these blocks to become one of our veteran’s quilts.

I don’t remember who made this one, but I really love it. The string sections are a great use of scraps and the two blues calm it down and unifies it.

Today I’m going to attempt to fire the glass kiln again and maybe do some dyeing.

You are so right about the string quilt. I love how the strings go so well with the two blue fabrics.
I want to make one like it, but honestly…..I have quilts that still need quilted. One has been basted for weeks!

That is a good head start on the tree for Chris. I would have liked to have a mini chainsaw when I was younger. Now I have to leave that kind of work for someone else.

I loved the two shades of blue when I saw it on your longarm. Now that I see the whole quilt it is even prettier! I need to pin that for a later idea;)

How you do everything you do, especially your chain saw work, amazes me. I am in awe of your glass work and can’t wait to see what comes out of your kiln next.
