To post today! It’s such a beautiful day today that I was anxious to get outside and do some yard work and didn’t get around to posting.

There honestly isn’t too much exciting going on. I got 2 veterans quilts loaded and started quilting yesterday.  I’ll get back to these as soon as I’m done here.

I did have some thread shredding issues, and I’m hoping they resolved magically overnight.

After dinner, I decided to play with these until the football game started. These are scraps from Eclipse. I’ve started sewing them into crumb blocks. I had tension issues on this but a new needle fixed it.

I’m making them 5″ because they might just become placemats. A 4.5″ finished block will be perfect for placemats.  But I have a lot of leftover fabric from Eclipse, so these could grow up to be something bigger. I’ll do more of the same today.

I love your crumb blocks! They would make fun placemats.

By the way, what kind of sewing machine do you use? If I’m remembering right, it’s a Juki? But I don’t know what model. When I sat down to sew facing strips on an art quilt I’ll be showing this weekend, my 19 year old Bernina Artista 630 stopped working. Turns out the main circuit board failed. I loved my machine, even though it was old. I’m bummed!

You could make matching table runners to go with each set of placemats. Paper piecing does produce a lot of scraps.

Good for you for starting to use the scraps from Eclipse right away and not letting them languish in your stash. I’m looking forward to seeing what you do with them.
