Quilting and ironing

Quilting and ironing

Look! The quilting is done! I’ll have lots of photos once it’s bound. My backing was extra wide, so I quilted some placemat-sized pieces to use for future fiddle mats for donation.

Here are the quilted bits. I got to use up some fluorescent orange thread for some of them and emptied another cone. I’ll finish the edges on the serger.

Next, I moved on to ironing. These are the mostly-blue fat quarters that I dyed.

These are the veterans’ quilt backs.

I finished yesterday by prepping 3 sets of veterans’ quilts. I’ll get started quilting these today.

Oh, wow! Your houses quilt is lovely. I love all the soft colors in it. The background is perfect – not sure what the exact color is – purple/lilac/amythest? Great job.

P.S. I meant to add that what makes this quilt so special are your hand dyed fabrics.

Wow! Have you been busy! I especially like your fabrics and colors on the house quilt. Its diagonal layout, also. Thank you for sharing all the pretties.

I love love love the Houses quilt. And it is always a joy to see your hand dyed fabric results. Some of those are similar to some of the fabrics in the Houses.

Looks like you have a pile of veteran’s quilts to work on over the next while! Ironing – one of my least favourite jobs.
