The houses are done!

I finished all of the houses yesterday! This photo doesn’t show them off well, but trust me, they are all done. I think the straight line pattern works well with the fabrics.

I used 13 colors of thread. Choosing colors was the most fun part. I’m pretty sure that a couple of these got used for the first time.  I really do have an obscene amount of thread. I bought most of it before I retired, 15 years ago.  I’m slowly working my way through it.

I only used green thread in the bobbin. I had a dark and a light. I had great tension, so none of it shows through the back.

I’ll get started in the filler quilting tomorrow. Today, I have errands and some alterations to do for Chris.

Your quilting looks fabulous. What kind of thread are you using? It looks shiny – I forget wwhat that might be.

I really love your dyed fabrics and the placing of the houses on an angle was very creative.

    It looks absolutely beautiful! Congrats.

I like the straight line quilting on the houses. Now the suspense, what will the filler quilting be?

Looks great so far! Must be something in the air over alterations for hubbies – it seems a couple pairs of pants requiring shortening have appeared in my sewing room.

I’ve really enjoyed watching the progression of your houses. I thought you had mentioned the pattern was from Colorful Quilts for Fabric Lovers by Amy Walsh & Janine Burke. I finally found a copy of the book but I’m not seeing the house pattern. It’s a pattern I’d like to try.
