Little Progress

I haven’t gotten a lot done in the last 2 days. On Thursday I worked early voting. It was another slow day and I added almost 4″ to my scarf. This pattern is fun to crochet. It’s mostly front and back post double and treble crochet. Unfortunately this photo is kind of crap. The camera decided to focus on the yarn ball and not the cable stitches. I have it memorized now so I don’t need to look at a pattern. That makes it a perfect travel project. It’s about 30″ now and I’d say that I have the equivalent of a little more than 1 full ball of yarn in it so far. I have this much left plus one other ball. I think I will be able to use all of it in the scarf. How long should a scarf be anyway? Is 60″ about right or do I just make it as long as the yarn allows?

One reason that I’ve been working on the placemats and, yesterday, these dog beds is that I don’t have the interest in starting a big project. That’s because I have another big project underway. I have to move my blog and website. I’ve been on Weebly for almost 10 years but it’s not going to be supported much longer. I started blogging so that I have can have a project photo album on the web. That means that I need to move all of my albums and and some tutorials. The blog posts will just start new. I’ve actually been making duplicate posts for over a month but I have a few more things to get done before I can redirect you to the new site. I really hope this is the last time I have to move because it’s a lot of un-fun work to do it.

These dog beds will be donated to a local animal shelter.

The other thing that I got done this week is stacking a lot of wood. That stack of new wood is actually 3 rows deep. Free wood is generally easy to come by “out in the country”. Chris got access to a fallen cherry tree from one friend and a maple from another. He had the hard job of splitting. I just had to stack. We have two big limbs to cut on our own property at some point and that will give us all the wood we need for next winter.

This weekend I hope to really buckle down on the website work but I’ll try to find a little sewing project to give myself a break. Maybe more placemats. Maybe some potholders. Definitely something a little mindless.
